At 1454 Harrow Squadron, we believe in creating unforgettable experiences for our young cadets and these fantastic events are some of the highlights of our calendar. From the grandeur of the Lord Mayor's Show to the solemnity of Remembrance Day, here's a sneak peek into what we do:

1. Lord Mayor's Parade:
Every November, London welcomes its new Lord Mayor with a spectacular parade that dates back to the 13th century. This centuries-old tradition brings together thousands of people to celebrate the newly elected Lord Mayor of London. Our cadets are honoured to be part of this historic event, dressing in their crisp uniforms and playing diverse roles. As they march through the streets of London, they become part of a tradition that showcases the city's rich history and civic pride.

2. St. George's Parade:
On April 23rd, we celebrate England's patron saint, St. George, with a parade that's bursting with patriotic pride. St. George's Day has been celebrated for centuries in honour of this legendary dragon-slaying knight, who symbolises bravery and chivalry. Our cadets proudly march, and we have impressive flag ceremonies that showcase our dedication to our country. It's a day of camaraderie and honouring our heritage.

3. ATC Sunday:
Imagine standing shoulder-to-shoulder with cadets from all over the nation, showcasing your drill and parade skills. ATC Sunday is a national event that takes place in February or March, and our cadets are in the spotlight. Senior members of the ATC, including Commandant Tony Keeling, are there to witness our talented cadets in action.

4. Remembrance Day:
November's second Sunday holds immense significance as we come together to remember and honour the lives lost in the armed forces. At 1454 Harrow Squadron, this day carries even greater weight because we have members who have served in the military. Remembrance Day is a moment of solemn reflection, a time to pay tribute to the brave souls who fought for our freedom. We stand together in a 2-minute silence, a powerful symbol of respect and gratitude. Our cadets lay wreaths, acknowledging the sacrifices made by those who served, and especially our squadron's own military members. It's an emotional and deeply meaningful day.

5. Wing Field Day:
Each year, we eagerly await Wing Field Day, a thrilling competition where cadets from across the region gather to put their skills to the test. It's a day of friendly rivalry, as cadets compete in a wide range of categories, including drill, banner, band, uniform, and air recognition. Wing Field Day is not just a competition; it's a chance for our cadets to showcase their talents and camaraderie, and it's always an event to remember. These events are not just about ceremonies; they're about our cadets growing, learning, and making memories that last a lifetime. At 1454 Harrow Squadron, we're proud to offer your child opportunities to develop leadership skills, forge lifelong friendships, and participate in meaningful events that help shape their character.
